After the recall of old 15 inch MacBook Pro laptops from Apple, many aviation regulators around the world have taken a big step. These include the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and a notification issued by the states that passengers will not be able to travel by air with some MacBook Pro models. This decision has been taken by DGCA, considering the danger associated with the battery of these devices.

Apple recently recalled the 15-inch MacBook Pro sold between September 2015 and February 2017 due to a flaw. The DGCA notification states that there is a risk of fire in these devices. However, Virgin Australia has imposed this ban on all new and old Apple MacBook models. However, giving relief to the travelers, the airlines have asked not to keep the MacBooks in the check-in back only. In such a situation, the passenger can take these devices with them in a carry-on bag while taking them on a flight.

Check serial number like this

Airlines in Australia said, "In view of Apple's recall of MacBooks worldwide, all Apple MacBooks must be in carry-on bags during travel. Traveling with any Apple MacBook in the check-in bag is not allowed until further notice. ' If you want to see if your MacBook is also affected by this ban, then you will have to check the serial number of the device. Click on 'About this Mac' appearing in the top left corner of the Apple menu. Here your device overview, name, OS version, model number, and serial number will be shown.

Device battery will be replaced

Copy the serial number of your device. After this, you will have to go to the 'Check your service and support coverage' (checkcoverage.apple.com) website on the browser. Here you have to enter by entering the serial number and you will know whether your device is also included in the list. If this is the case, go to the Apple Authorized Service Provider and get the device's battery replaced. The service center will check if your MacBook Pro is part of this program. After this, you will get the device back in one to two weeks.
